ColourPop x My Little Pony Collection ♡ First Impression + Swatches

ColourPop x My Little Pony Collection

ColourPop has recently launched a collection that is in collaboration with My Little Pony and it is soooo SO CUTE! Although I am a 90s baby, I did not grow up with My Little Pony, instead my childhood was filled with Chibi Maruko-Chan, Sailor Moon, Power Rangers, Doraemon etc...

I only started my My Little Pony obsession a few years ago and as you know, I love all things pink, girly and kawaii, when I saw this collection, I wanted everything!

This collection was launched in October and I know, I am reviewing these a month late, but not to worry because almost everything that I am sharing with you today is still available to purchase.

ColourPop x My Little Pony Eyeshadow Palette

MY LITTLE PONY PALETTE | USD $16

The first product that caught my attention when I saw the release of this collection is definitely the My Little Pony Palette, this is a pressed powder eyeshadow palette that includes a mixture of twelve metallic, satin and matte eyeshadows.

The packaging on this palette is so adorable, it has a rainbow design with seven holographic pony and lots of sparkles around. This palette is made out of cardboard, but it's very sturdy and it has a magnetic closure. The back of the palette has all the eyeshadow names and I love that this palette is very thin and lightweight and I also love that it doesn't come with a mirror.

Ever since I bought my first ColourPop Pressed Powder Shadow in "Come and Get It", I have been so obsessed with their pressed shadows, coming from someone who rarely wears eye makeup, this is big! I love the texture, the formula, the colour selections and best of all, ColourPop is so affordable!

As shown in my arm swatches above, the ColourPop My Little Pony Palette is very pigmented, the texture is smooth, soft and it is bendable on the eyes. The only problem I had with this palette is the colour selection, don't get me wrong, I love all the shades included in this palette, but I find it hard to create a look using just this palette.

ColourPop x My Little Pony Pressed Powder Highlighter Trickles

TRICKLES PRESSED POWDER HIGHLIGHTER | USD $8

This is my first time trying the Pressed Powder Highlighter from ColourPop and I have to admit that I was skeptical about this product upon first application. It is very pigmented and the colour is very lavender-ish, I just couldn't picture myself wearing this to work as it would be too over the top.

Then I decided to give this a couple more try before I make my final decision and I just felt like, the more I use this highlighter, the more I fall in love with it and now I am pretty much obsessed.

There are two highlighter shades available from the My Little Pony collection and I have the one called "Trickles" and it is described as a lavender with pink opal duochrome flip.

Although the actual product has grown on me, I am still not feeling the packaging. I mean, the packaging has ponies and sparkles, it's cute, but non of these packagings are as cute as the designs on the cardboard boxes.

ColourPop x My Little Pony Ultra Gloss Lip

COLOURPOP X MY LITTLE PONY ULTRA GLOSSY LIP | USD $6 ea

There are six lip products included in the ColourPop x My Little Pony collection, three Ultra Matte Lips and three Ultra Glossy Lips. I only bought two Ultra Glossy Lips in the shades Dream Castle and Ponyland as I felt like the other lip products don't really match the themes with the colours and the formulas.

I know that a lot of people prefers lip glosses that has a thin and non sticky texture, but I am actually the other way around, although the Ultra Glossy Lip formula is lightweight and comfortable, I am more of a MAC Lipglass person.

ColourPop x My Little Pony Ultra Gloss Lip Dream Castle

Dream Castle is described as a metallic fuchsia with blue, violet and gold glitter on top, it is a very bright and pigmented colour and it is suitable to wear on its' own.

ColourPop x My Little Pony Ultra Gloss Lip Ponyland

Ponyland is described as lilac slightly sprinkled with pink and gold glitter, it's pretty much sheer lilac tinted gloss that is jam packed with glitters. I have been wearing Ponyland on its' own, but it is better worn as a lip topper as the colour kinda of shows up as a greyish lilac on its' own. As mentioned, the gloss is thin, lightweight, non-sticky and it feels comfortable on the lips, the longest I have worn Ponyland was up to six hours.

ColourPop x My Little Pony Super Shock Shadows

COLOURPOP x MY LITTLE PONY SUPER SHOCK SHADOWS | USD $5 ea

There are three Super Shock Shadows available from the ColourPop x My Little Pony collection, I have all three of them and they are in shades Posey (soft pinky beige with silver, gold and pink glitter), Sunbeam (pastel lavender drenched with violet, hot pink and ice blue glitter) and Cherries Jubilee (opalescent pink with hot pink glitter). All three shades are Ultra-Glitter formula, the texture feels soft and wet upon application, it has almost no pigmentation, just colour glitters and I find them all applied uneven.

I am a huge fan of ColourPop Super Shock Shadows and I especially love their Metallic formulas. If I have to be vey honest with you, I am actually quite disappointed in the three Ultra-Glitter ones from the My Little Pony collection, the colour selections doesn't scream PONY to me.

OVERALL THOUGHTS OF COLOURPOP X MY LITTLE PONY:

I love the packaging and the designs on the cardboard boxes more than the actual products.

The eyeshadows, super shock shadows and the lip products' colour selection is pretty, but the overall theme does not scream MY LITTLE PONY to me.

My favourite out of everything ordered is definitely the My Little Pony Palette, all the eyeshadows are very pigmented, the formula blends out beautifully, the texture is smooth and soft and the colours are gorgeous.

My least favourite is the Super Shock Shadows, they are packed with glitters which I love, but the colours barely shows up on skin and it doesn't blend evenly on the eyes.
